The National Pro Bono Lawyers' Roster for Justice for Children brings together legal practitioners across Nigeria who are willing to provide free, timely and child-sensitive legal assistance to children in contact with the justice system.
Why this matters
Too few children meet a lawyer
Children are over 45 per cent of Nigeria's population. Only a small share of those who come into contact with the justice system ever receive appropriate legal aid, while thousands are held in detention each year. The Child Rights Act has been law since 2003; the gap is in implementation.

Access to justice, not a mailing list
Lawyers on the roster may be contacted subject to need, geographical location, relevant expertise and availability, to provide legal advice, representation, diversion support, mediation where appropriate, referrals and related legal assistance. Participation does not guarantee that cases will be assigned.
